Michael has focused very specifically on the highly specialised area of risk within the logistics and transportation industry.

Michael established a solid foundation and expertise in this field first gaining practical experience in the work place during which time he completed examinations allowing him to be elected as a Fellow of the Insurance Institute. He also consolidated this foundation academically, completing an MBA degree during which time he successfully researched the trends of risk finance, risk management and marine insurance within the supply chain.

Michael began his career in 1990 with an insurance company gaining underwriting and claims experience in the marine and aviation sectors. His expertise were enhanced by the progression from there into the marketing and broking side of the insurance industry joining an insurance broker, focusing on supply chain transportation risk management.

He left for a period of time to join a large logistics company, where he gained valuable practical experience and understanding of the risks associated to the supply chain industry, especially within the import/export sector.

He later returned to the marine insurance broking industry as a director of one of the large global insurance brokers and risk service providers.
